macs are supposed to be just simple, right? Well how come i get so many panicked calls from my friends and family about spinning beach balls, missing address bars, blank screens or deleted apps etc… and the secret IS simple : 99.9% of the time these mac follies are caused by ( and fixed by ) the wrong key being accidentally pushed on keyboard ..seriously. The minimalist esthetic Steve Jobs set out to create via resizing silently has wrecked havoc amongst game playing Facebook using mac users without knowledge of hidden key-combo powers.
The Great news is you almost NEVER have have to go to the genius bar and you havent wrecked your computer or deleted what you think you have ..( save spilling your drink on your keyboard) A fix is usually just a restart or few keystroke-combos away
bookmark these next few posts to hopefully save yourself a trip to the genius bar next time… get stoked on the basic keystrokes:
press these keys together for some quick time savers. at first it seems clunky but rest assured after you do it a few times you’ll wonder what more key stroke magic tricks there are..
My mom seems to “lose” her safari address bar ALOT – here is fix :
hold down these keys : Control + Command + F key
and address bar will reappear ( it will go away again if you press the keys again – its called *)
the basics… surprisingly, many people do not know-(no shame, mom)
